The BBC has just announced that the hotly anticipated show will air on Sunday 27th August at 9.00pm on BBC One, with the second episode airing the day after on Monday 28th August. This is over the August bank holiday weekend, so expect a Strike-fuelled few days of watching. The following next three episodes of this seven-part series will air on the 3, 10 and 17 September.
The series follows an overweight private detective, Cormoran Strike. Operating out of a tiny office on London's Denmark Street and on the verge of bankruptcy, he is a spiky and unlikeable character. However, despite being down on his luck and wounded both physically and psychologically, he proves crucial in solving three complex cases that have confounded the police.
Cormoran will be played by Tom Burke, who recently starred in BBC’s epic War And Peace as Fedor Dolokhov and in The Musketeers as Athos. We predict that Strike: The Cuckoo's Calling will be one of the biggest TV shows of 2017.
Strike: The Cuckoo's Calling air date: Sunday 27th August at 9.00pm on BBC One, with the second episode airing the day after on Monday 28th August.
