You've perused modern art with wine in hand at Tate Lates, and exercised your drawing skills at the National Portrait Gallery's equivalent after-dark event. But here's a 'late' with a twist: for two nights only this October, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is laying on 'Battersea Lates' – a chance for you to meet some of their furry residents after-hours.

Guests can expect wood-fired pizza, plentiful drinks, and a screening of Homeward Bound to celebrate the Disney film's 25th anniversary – an appropriate cinematic choice given the location. Under the centre's railway arches, you'll be able to cuddle up with some of the home's four-legged tenants, too.

The best part is that all profits from the event will go towards helping the thousands of animals that arrive at Battersea's gates every year. Who knows? You might even meet your future pet.

Tickets are limited so it's advisable to book early, however there aremore Battersea Lates events coming in 2019, promising gourmet food trucks, twilight yoga, and more movie screenings. So, whether you're a cat or dog person (we, personally, don't feel the need to choose), book now for a chance to provide a mistreated moggie or cast-aside canine with a loving home.
