The wraps are off Opera Holland Park 2018, and the news is good for music-lovers. Verdi's La Traviata, the story of a love overwhelmed by duty, contrasts with the light-hearted romantic swopsies of Mozart's Così Fan Tutte. Richard Strauss's full-bodied show-within-a-show Ariadne auf Naxos is the third of the season's four new productions, which also include a little-known Italian opera, Isabeau, based on the Lady Godiva story.

West London's summer palace of music has a reputation for attracting big-name singers to its airy, garden-set theatre. Culture Whisper will have full details of casts and dates soon. Watch this space.

Booking opens January 2018.
