It's the triple whammy when the Spanish nobleman Don Giovanni struts his stuff in Mozart's great opera of that name. By turns darkly comedic, sinister and redemptive, a new production is the centrepiece of a 10-day festival at the Pleasance inspired by the cornerstones of life: sex, love and death.
The opera starts with a seduction – just the latest of many, many – and a murder, and ends ... just as it should. Staged by HeadFirst Productions, five performances (26, 29 30 Oct and 1, 3 Nov) are interspersed on other dates by events featuring spoken and written word, dance and cabaret. There are five events featuring eight companies in all.
