Sitting bolt upright in rows in a concert hall is not everyone's way of enjoying great music – it's certainly not how we listen at home. And it's not even how a lot of music was designed to be heard. Chamber music, for example, was played to small informal groups in the home, and you can be sure everyone who could do so grabbed the comfiest chairs.

Now the amazing London-based musicians of Arensky Chamber Orchestra have devised a new experience, with set designers Darling and Edge, the team behind Alice's Adventures Underground and chef Natalie Coleman. Together they will bring to life the ancient love story of Tristan and Isolde, as told by Wagner, in a version of his music that will unfold in the deep recesses of the sort of secret location that the illicit lovers are forced to inhabit.

With food options at some performances and the chance to be right alongside the players, rather than watching them from a distance, In Night's Darkling Glory promises to be a memorable and atmospheric event, and irresistible to those who prefer exploring music to receiving it. Be warned; tickets have been snapped up fast - but spots are still available for performances on Thursday, 19 October and Sunday, 22 October, at 4pm and 7.15pm. Don't miss out!
