The National Theatre's smash hit stage adaptation of War Horse continues to gallop from strength to strength. As the 2007 production tours around the UK it will return to London to christen a new state-of-the-art performance space. Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre is developed by the team behind the Kings Cross Theatre and will open in summer 2019. Along with a versatile performance space, the new theatre will house and restaurant, bar and outdoor terrace.

James Saunders, chief operating officer of the developer behind Wembley Park, says: 'We’re thrilled about the Troubadour Theatre opening, as it adds to the growing cultural offering of the area, that already boasts Wembley Stadium, SSE Arena and Boxpark Wembley, and will be an intrinsic part of the lively new neighbourhood'

Further programming is still to be announced, but the inaguaral show is a tried and tested hit.

War Horse
has won an astounding 25 awards, toured the world, and captivated crowds night after night. It ran on the West End until 2017, before embarking upon a national tour.

Michael Morpurgo's moving story about the bond between one boy and his horse through the challenges of the first world war is told with tenderness and imagination. Whether or not you're familiar with the book or film version of the story, War Horse is something else altogether on stage.

Joey the horse is brought to life with extraordinary feats of puppetry. The vividness as he gallops across stage, nuzzles and whinnies is breathtaking, tear-jerking and rightfully hailed by critics as 'genius' 'magic' and 'uniquely moving'. Expect to laugh, sob and leave feeling a little more alive.

This is one show that certainly deserves its fanfare of five star reviews. Don't miss your chance to see War Horse in London.
