Julia Donaldson's bestselling books translate beautifully to the stage with their catchy rhymes and familiar characters.

This Christmas, The Paper Dolls, based on the book written by the former Children's Laureate with illustrations by Rebecca Cobb, is landing at the New Wimbledon Theatre in a production from Polka Theatre and Little Angel Theatre. The production is adapted and directed by Peter Glanville, with music from Julian Butler and set and puppet design by Lyndie Wright.

There was once a girl who had tiger slippers and a ceiling with stars on it and a butterfly hairslide which she kept losing and two goldfish and a nice mother who helped her to make some paper dolls...

So begins the charming tale of The Paper Dolls, which comes to life through music and puppetry and tells the story of the adventures of the paper doll family and the girl whose imagination brought them to life (there are also some pesky scissors they desperately need to avoid). A must-see for kids 3+ (The Guardian called it "spellbinding"). Babes in arms under 12 months go free.
