You might have heard of Comic Con, but there's a new nerd gathering in London town: the VFX Festival.

Celebrating digital excellence in the past year – with everything from games to animation – the VFX Festival sees industry leaders assemble and share their knowledge through talks, workshops, panels, and interactive exhibition spaces. Returning for its sixth year, the three-day event has no shortage of exciting means of transporting you behind the scenes of your favourite movies and TV shows.

Top animators from visual effects companies will be in attendance. No doubt some of the most under-appreciated artists of the century as they push the boundaries of realism through CGI, VFX Festival brings the real stars of big blockbusters to the spotlight. Headliner Framestore will be presenting a first-time look at the movie magic behind Thor: Ragnarok. Framestore’s lead VFX Supervisor, Alexis Wajsbro, will delve into the production of 459 shots of heavy-duty visual effects. We'd like to see you do that, Picasso! If that wasn't enough hype, Framestore will also pull back the curtain on Paddington 2, revealing how they brought the iconic bear to life.

The non-stop action continues with the anatomy of an alien, as the lead visual effects artist of Alien: Covenant takes to the stage. Learn about the digital architecture that goes into creating your favourite galaxy far, far away as Ben Morris talks us through the VFX animation process that brought The Last Jedi to the big screen.
