Triple Olivier-winner Mike Bartlett examines family dynamics at Christmas in a piquant new play at Kiln Theatre

A new play by Mike Bartlett: Snowflake, Kiln Theatre
Three-time Olivier Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett (Dr Foster, King Charles III) explores the family politics of the festive season in a warm, witty new play that comes to Kilburn's Kiln Theatre after impressing in Oxford last year.

The London transfer is a home-coming for Kilburn resident Bartlett: 'Snowflake is a play fundamentally about home and identity, so when the chance to bring it to London came up, Kiln Theatre was the perfect place - and I'm looking forward to finding new resonances in what became my second home in London.”

Snowflake follows 43-year-old Andy, who enjoys TV re-runs and going to the pub on the Kilburn High Road. Three years ago his daughter Maya left home and stopped speaking to him. But this Christmas Andy is sure she is coming home, and Maya is adamant she is not.

Bartlett explores the father daughter conflict and the clash between two generations with tenderness and comedy in what promises to be a heart-warming festive show.
