The best Met Gala looks of 2019

From outrageously outlandish to high-calibre camp, we've rounded up the Met Gala 2019's best looks

Our favourite met gala looks

The theme for this year's Met Gala was 'Camp' – the first explicitly queer theme in the event's history and a concept that at was initially met with bewilderment by some. It's a complex and layered aesthetic, and one that plays a critical role both within fashion and as a mainstay of contemporary culture today.

Fom Lady Gaga's flamboyant strip tease to Lupiya Nyong'o's prismatic, bird-of-paradise inspired number, celebrities pulled out all the stops to achieve their fix of Gala glory. From outrageously outlandish to high-calibre Camp, we've rounded up the Met Gala 2019's best looks.

Designer Christian Siriano was behind a number of this year's best pink carpet looks, but this half-half gown-suit worn by Michael Urie really took the biscuit.

Bella Hadid in Jeremy Scott

Harry Styles was a dream in camp, in a semi-sheer Gucci blouse, high waisted trousers, heeled boots and single pearl earring a la Vermeer. Creative director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele, arrived closely in tow, wearing a mettalic pink catsuit with matching platform boots.

Gemma Chan in Tom Ford

We couldn't wait to see what Gemma Chan would wear, and her Ice Queen ensemble by Tom Ford didn't disappoint.

Lena Waithe and Kerby Jean-Raymond in Pyer Moss

Nyong'o was a neon rainbow in a gown by Versace, with a towering crown of five, gilded afro picks in her hair, created by celebrity hair stylist Vernon Francois.

Ezra Miller in Burberry

Ezra Miller was transformed into the Met Gala's resident optical illusion, donning a jewelled, caged corsest over pinstripes and five face-paint eyes.
