Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande

Direct from Glyndebourne, a new production semi-staged at the Proms of Debussy's impressionistic opera. Robin Ticciati conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra in the highly atmospheric and colourful score, and a cast that includes baritone Christopher Purves (pictured) as the obsessive Golaud. A free talk at Imperial College at 4:45PM introduces the French composer's only opera, in the centenary of his death.
