Shostakovich's 'Leningrad' Symphony No 7

The gigantic and defiant symphony that blasted out through loudspeakers across the besieged city of Leningrad in 1942 is played by the BBC Philharmonic under Juanjo Mena (pictured). In the first half a modern classic, Magnus Lindberg's Clarinet Concerto, features soloist Mark Simpson.
