Pride and Prejudice: A Pajama Party Marathon, The Book Club

Spend a Sunday with Darcy and binge-watch the BBC's greatest period drama while raising money for period poverty at The Book Club's PJ party marathon

Pride and Prejudice: A Pajama Party Marathon, The Book Club
It's a truth universally acknowledged that Jane Austen is always a good idea. Especially when it's the BBC's 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, with all episodes played in one binge-worthy marathon and all profits going to a good cause.

Spend a Sunday swooning over Fitzwilliam Darcy at The Book Club, where Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle will act out the tale of bristling dislike turning to passionate love (featuring that wet shirt scene on the big screen). The series will be split into three sittings, hosted by podcasted Leena Normington and punctuated by breaks for snacks and shopping.

By indulging your love of period drama you'll also be helping to combat period poverty by supporting the Red Box Project. The community-led initiative works to give all women access to sanitary products. Currently in the UK one in ten women and girls cannot afford sanitary wear and often have to miss school due to periods.

There will be period-positive gifts on-sale and a time of the month themed raffle with profits going towards the Red Box Project. Attendees are encouraged to donations (sanitary pads, tampons, new underwear) to help fill the boxes and will also learn how to continue to good work by setting up Red Box donation points in their own area.
