It's all and only about the flute for three days, so grab that case and head for Westminster

Here's one for the flautist in your family, whether just starting out or already a dab hand.

The British Flute Society returns to St John’s Smith Square for its second summer flute festival, celebrating the instrument, its technique, and its music with the help of the world's top players.

Future Flute Fest explores many different genres and styles of flute playing through fantastic performances by world-renowned players who enjoy varied professional careers. These include evening gala concerts from Sophie Cherrier (Ensemble intercontemporain), Stefan Höskuldsson (principal flautist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra), and a concert of baroque music from Katy Bircher.

Among the huge and distinguished line-up is Mark Sparks, principal flautist with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

Visit the stands to pick up the latest news, music accessories and instruments, and then enjoy the feeling of practising with others.

There are sessions throughout the day, and a concert on each of the festival's three evenings.
