Enter Lyra’s Oxford at this exciting pre-midnight opening to celebrate the publication of Book of Dusk. The prequel to Pullman’s award-winning His Dark Materials trilogy is being released 22 years after Northern Lights was published. The bookshop have promised that the venue will be transformed in a way which will amaze and delight any die-hard Pullman fans.

The hilarious bestselling author and journalist Caitlin Moran, and poet and performer Mark Grist, will be reading extracts from the new novel, alongside a number of other special, and as yet unrevealed, guests.

For fans of young adult fantasy novels, who might feel nostalgic about the lack of midnight book launches since the end of the Harry Potter series, this event, at only £5 a ticket, looks set to be a hit.

With plenty of additional exclusive surprises being held back until nearer to 18 October, prepare for a spectacular evening and book early, as tickets are sure to be in high demand.

  • Ossobuco

In keeping with the classic associations of its name, this Fitzrovia restaurant has 'a strong focus on rustic Italian dishes inspired by traditional family recipes', albeit served in a stylish modern setting complete with cocktail bar.

Salt Yard is a cosy dining room in London's Fitzrovia, serving Spanish and Italian tapas dishes with aplomb. The food is remarkable for its sustainability, and the staff's attention to detail, right down to knowing what kind of acorns the Ibérico pigs recently feasted on.
