When a feminist dystopia begins to resemble actual current affairs, it's time to worry. Margaret Atwood's landmark 1985 novel The Handmaid's Tale has become eerily predictive of attitudes towards women and reproductive rights. Thanks to a well-timed TV adaptation, the story has become an everyone's-talking-about-it phenomenon all over again.

Now the Booker-winning writer makes a rare public appearance in London to read from her books (with Cat's Eye, Alias Grace, The Blind Assassin and many more, Atwood has a long list of best-sellers to choose from). She will also discuss her career and reflect on the implications of and parallels with her work.
