Children's Art Week is back again for 2018 to celebrate the joys of art. Kids from all over London will be participating in a vast array of artistic workshops to help all ages from tiny tots to tweens get inspired to create some of their very own art this summer.

This nationwide celebration features a huge number of events taking place in galleries, art centres, museums, and libraries. Read on for some of the highlights from this year's London programme:

Discover Your City
Saturday 9 June 11:00-15:00
New London Architecture encourages families to be inspired by the capital. Together they can view the new interactive model of The City, join arts and craft sessions to build famous landmarks or something from their own imagination or go on an architectural adventure - a family walking tour to discover sights, stories and secrets across the West End.
Suitable for ages 5-7

We Built This City, RIBA
Saturday 9 June 11:00-16:00
A family fun day which mixes drop-in and timed workshops for a variety of activities at RIBA. Children can design and build their own architecture, help create a large-scale mural or join in with a class that mixes storytelling and practical art skills.
Suitable for ages 0-14

Explorative Mark & Print Making
Sunday 10 June Time TBC
This workshop allows young people to have a go at making their own masterpiece with a range of media to explore. These various techniques of mark and print making can also be used by participants who wish to work together on collaborative projects.
Suitable for children of all ages

Drop-In and Design
Sunday 10 June & Sunday 17 June 10:30-17:00
These drop-in sessions allow kids to be inspired by the Victoria and Albert Museum and its collection. They will have the opportunity to create their own 3D structure with a variety of materials (10 June) or have fun making a musical instrument to take home (17 June).
Suitable for ages 0-11

Children's Art Week at the Royal Mews
Saturday 16 June 11:00-15:00
The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is inviting families to take part in arty activities including watercolour drawing and carbon paper printing. Children can also recreate one of Queen Victoria's paintings and experience what it is like to sit in a royal carriage.
Suitable for children of all ages

Visit the Children's Art Week website for more details on what is taking place and whether booking is required for your event.
