A World Inside a Book: Gruffalos, Dragons & Other Creatures, Discover Children's Story Centre

After a great year in the Fantastic World of Dr. Seuss, Discover Children's Story Centre will re-open its doors this autumn with a brand new exhibition.

Families are invited to experience the world of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler like never before, in the UK's first immersive exhibition celebrating the artists' wonderful works. Curl up in the cosy sitting room of Charlie Cook's Favourite Book for story time. Creep into a forest occupied by Gruffalos, dragons, and other creatures (keep an eye out for the mighty Zog). Climb through the Highway Rat's cave, traverse the Monkey Puzzle jungle, and enter the underwater world of Tiddler.

The permanent exhibition on the first floor will remain unchanged. Children can still explore the creative play space – designed and revamped by illustrator Jim Field in 2016 to inspire children's curiosity and imagination. Little ones will love scaling castle walls, crawling into the fairy rock circle, and following the sparkling river downstream to the magical woodland, complete with hideaways and rockeries.
