Who doesn't love David Attenborough? Not only have his award-winning documentaries shifted our behaviour and lifestyle thanks to the "Blue Planet effect" his series sparked, his programmes are always extraordinary to watch, for kids, for adults, for anyone on the planet.

Attenborough's Emmy Award winning Netflix series Our Planet is getting the multimedia full concert treatment, with the world premiere of the two-hour Our Planet in Concert at the O2 in October 18, 2020 (a performance will follow in Glasgow the next night).

The production reimagines the Emmy Award winning series as a live, immersive experience, narrated on screen by Attenborough, and combines the stunning natural world visuals of Our Planet with innovative live production effects, including a 66-piece orchestra and live vocalist, Lisa Hannigan.

The performance was developed with Silverback Films and Oscar-winning composer Steven Price, and will feature across three giant screens to immerse audiences in the Earth's wildlife and habitats, working with smart lighting to enhance the visual experience around the arena, with a sound system that surrounds the audience with effects from 36 positions.

Even better? All net profits from the project will go back into the planet's preservation and will be donated to WWF's global Our Planet education and awareness initiatives, which includes providing educational materials to schools and young people. The creators have also taken measures to ensure the live events are as minimimally impactful on the environment as possible.

Can't wait until October? Planet Earth II Live in Concert is on in March 2020.
