Two landmark events in the Proms calendar this year are given by the unrivalled Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, in London for the first time under its new chief conductor, Kirill Petrenko (pictured). Music by Dukas, Prokofiev and Schmidt will feature in the first concert, with Strauss's Don Juan and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony in the second. Meticulous playing is guaranteed.
