Kitsch, rude and ever-so-neon: Glasgow-based Rachel Maclean creates trippy art that's unafraid to make you nauseous. She toys with contemporary culture, poking fun at our obsession with celebrities, memes, the Kardashians and the internet. This Autumn, her boisterous work comes to nest at the Tate Britain.

Wot u :-) about? exhibits her multi-media imagery. Maclean uses innovative green-screen technology to produce trippy, dream-esque visions set in fantastical landscapes, where fairytales meet pop culture

The characters in her work are played by Maclean herself, and her films make for purposefully nightmarish-come-seductive viewing, distorting the balance between what is grotesque and what is glamorous.

Wot u :-) about? is a major show of Maclean's new work. Art Now is a series of exhibitions at Tate Britain which shines a light on new and emerging artists.
