For the duration of the festival, the Riverside Walkway will be transformed by two large-scale installations: Mud Shell, a project led by architect Stephanie Chaltiel, and the Gateway to Inclusion, conceived by Lisa White in collaboration with designer François Dumas. Both installations are designed with social enterprise in mind.

Gateway to Inclusion, comprising vibrant steel arches dressed in ribbons, aims to promote inclusion in design, while Mud Shell explores methods and materials that could be used to transform temporary housing into permanent residences. This strikingly innovative housing project combines ancient earth architecture techniques with the latest drone spraying technology.

Doon Street Site is the largest super-structure ever built by designjunction, housing 200 international design brands and temporary pop-up shops. It's not all about the hustle and bustle, though: Doon Street will also provide spaces to mingle and relax, with pop-up restaurants such as STILL and site-specific co-working space, The Architect's Toolkit, designed by award-winning, Brixton based architecture practice Squire and Partners.

The space at STILL is designed to encourage quiet contemplation, with harmonious layers of colour and texture offering a soothing setting, while the Squire and Partners' creative co-working space will offer a highly stimulating 'dreamscape environment' in which essential design tools are on hand, and people can meet, work and create together.

About the power of good design. Conceived by Swiss watch manufacturer Vitra, The Original focuses on Vitra's classic and contemporary products, and aims to demonstrate the close relationship the company holds with its designers.

Other highlights include the launch of Elements, the nature-inspired collection from Flooring creatives, Bolon, and the unveiling of SOFT POWER, an installation showcasing Tej Chauhan’s new Artifort design range, from technology to homeware, celebrating the everyday.
