Fortitude Season 2: box set and on Sky Atlantic

When is Fortitude Season 2 coming out? How do I watch it? What is it? Here's everything you need to know about your favourite guilty pleasure

Fortitude Season 2: Everything you need to know
Nearly two years ago, the original series of Fortitude took our breath away. It began with a fatal polar bear attack and a nasty murder. Then several residents in the remote Arctic town were manics. In the end, the police chief Sheriff Anderson was forced to shoot the woman he had become obsessed with, as prehistoric parasitic wasps escaped from the thawed out bodies of wooly mammoths turned the townspeople into homicidal psychopaths. It was cold -- inside and out -- and now it's back.

Sky Atlantic's chilling thriller picks up with a new storyline set just seven weeks after the last episode of season one ended on Sky Atlantic. Immediately after the first episode ends (at 10pm on Thursday 26 January) the remaining nine episodes will become available on the Sky Box Set service, which means the majority of subscribers with a Sky+HD box and SKY Q or those who use the monthly service NOWTV, will be able to watch it. Those who prefer to tune in each week will be able to see Fortitude at 9pm every Thursday.

Series two rejoins the inhabitants of the isolated town called, suitably enough, Fortitude, in Arctic Norway. Dennis Quaid and Parminder Nagra are among the season's actors, and joining the surviving cast is Sofie Grabol as town governor, Richard Dormer as Sheriff Dan Anderssen and Luke Treadaway as an Arctic researcher and Sienna Guillory as a scientist.

There's no Sir Michael Gambon, Christopher Eccleston or Stanley Tucci -- the amazing cast from season one -- as anyone who has seen it knows why. We can't wait to watch the whole thing... the countdown to Thursday begins.
