The End of Hope, Soho Theatre

This no holds barred comedy explores the surreal moments ahead of a one night stand

The End of Hope, Soho Theatre
Modern relationships are curious things, and the haphazard and surprising ways in which they can unfold are explored in David Ireland’s latest work, The End of Hope, showing in the Soho Theatre this October.

Award-winning playwright David Ireland (Cyprus Avenue) explores the getting to know you process. The quirky comedy centres around Dermot and Janet, who are getting to know each other ahead of a one night stand. As the pair quickly learn that they disagree on almost everything, from politics to religion to sex, romantic connections prove more elusive than either of them anticipated.

The pressure is on for the two-person cast of Rufus Wright as Dermot, and Elinor Lawless as Janet, but the huge host of West End credits behind the pair bodes well.

The End of Hope comes to Soho Theatre after runs in Glasgow’s Òran Mór and Richmond's Orange Tree Theatre. Expect taboos to be broken, lines to be crossed, and laughs to be had in this play which reviews have described as ‘complex, hilarious and fascinating
