Head to our Instagram for a sneak peek inside the pop up!

Blooming out of the Chelsea Flower Show, the most prestigious flower show in the world, are a number of city-wide floral festivals that have in recent years become even more Instagrammable than the main event. With crocuses, roses, and whimsical wild flowers adorning shop fronts across the capital, May in London celebrates petal power mania in regal glory.

Now in its third year, Belgravia in Bloom is one of the most popular floral spin offs. This year, as sponsors of the upcoming Frida Kahlo exhibition at the V&A, the week-long Belgravia in Bloom extravaganza (19 - 26 May) takes Frida as its theme. More than 50 retailers across Elizabeth Street, Motcomb Street, Pimlico Road and Eccleston Yards, including Rococo Chocolates, DONNA IDA and Neill Strain Floral Couture, garnish their boutiques with glorious floral creations inspired by the fashions, colours, style and aesthetic championed by the artist herself.

But among the petals resides the jewel in the floral crown: Frida’s Parlour. This pop-up Frida Kahlo-inspired installation is styled to mirror the interiors of Frida's studio in Casa Azul, the artist’s famed residence in Mexico City. At the heart of the temporary exhibition space is the Wallpaper Room. Inspired by the featured backdrop in Nickolas Muray’s famous photograph of the artist, its selfie-conducive backdrop makes it one of the most Instagrammable places in London. For the duration of the festival and beyond, Frida's Parlour hosts a series of creative workshops, from Frida-inspired floral headdress-making sessions to self-portraiture classes.
