The Duchess of Sussex has designed her own five-piece workwear collection to support Smart Works charity - and it is on sale now

The Smart Set: Meghan Markle's capsule collection
Fresh from guest-editing the September 2019 edition of British Vogue the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has officially returned from maternity leave to launch her own workwear collection to support the charity Smart Works, of which she is patron.

The Duchess has collaborated with high street favourites John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Jigsaw, and designer Misha Nonoo to create the Smart Set, a capsule collection of five items that are ideal for the work place. She spent eight months working closely with the brands to design items that are practical and timeless. The collection reflects the Duchess's own style, with a contemporary take on classic cuts and she has all five items in her wardrobe.

The Duchess has made quite the impact with her style choices since her relationship with Prince Harry became public. Known for a fondness for modern tailoring and a well-cut shirt, it's little surprise that these feature in the collection.

A slim-cut two-piece trouser suit, from Jigsaw, is perfect office attire - for a touch of feminine flair pair it with one of the soft, pussy-bow blouses that abound this summer. The single button jacket has shades of Le Smoking about it and is brilliantly versatile, as it will also look great worn with jeans or a pleated midi-skirt.

The LBD isn't just a stalwart of party-dressing, it's a go-to for executive wardrobes too: it's the perfect blank canvas for statement jewellery, and a one piece takes the hassle out of early morning meetings. Helpfully, this chic Marks & Spencer version is machine-washable, an added bonus.

For every Smart Set garment sold, the same item will be donated to Smart Works. The charity helps unemployed women to enter, or re-enter, the workforce by providing job-appropriate clothing along with interview coaching.

As patron of the charity, Meghan has paid a number of visits to the charity's headquarters over the past year, helping women to choose outfits and sitting in on interview workshops. 'I am excited to celebrate the launch of another initiative of women supporting women, and communities working together for the greater good,' the Duchess said at the launch of the clothing collection.

The Smart Set is now on sale. With the Duchess's almighty influence and an affordable price range from £19.50 to £199, the collection is sure set to sell out. Here's what's on sale and where to buy it.
