A herd of goats might have stolen the show when they took to the stage at the Royal Court Theatre in 2017, but now Londoners can (and should) prepare to be amazed by an operatic escargatoire.
Art, technology, and nature come together in Slow Pixel, a multi-sensory installation where 176 singing snails serenade audiences. French artists Élizabeth Saint-Jalmes and Cyril Leclerc have created tiny diodes to capture the snail's melodious tones, and little lamps so you can keep an eye on the performers as they creep through their surroundings. Don't miss the groovy gastropods breaking into song as they navigate their acoustic environment this April.
Part of Sonica, a weekend festival of sound art, Slow Pixel invites you to slow down and appreciate the little things. Tickets to the festival include access to the spectacular snails, as well as a selection of events and installations, from Virtual Reality sculpture Nearer Future to a live performance from Lakker.
