Prohibition London boat party: 100 Year Anniversary Special

A secret vessel celebrates 100 years of Prohibition in an immersive evening on the Thames

Prohibition London boat party
How do you celebrate 100 years since The National Prohibition Act was passed through US Congress in 1919? With a decadent boat party of course. Evade the authorities by setting sail on the River Thames for an evening of bootlegging fun.

Bourne & Hollingsworth invites you to experience the opulence of the Roaring twenties, a time when an underground network of clandestine speakeasies were notorious for hosting riotous parties. London’s longest running 1920s immersive event has truly conceived something special in order to celebrate a law which gave rise to countless evenings of Bacchanalian revelry amongst America's Bright Young Things.

They've organised a night of floating glitz and glamour, taking inspiration from the ‘three-mile limit’, the distance that defined a country’s jurisdiction in international waters; it's a convenient loophole which created a fleet of offshore casinos and bars.

Indulge yourself by taking on the guise of 1920s profligates like Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan. As you board a boat at a secret Central London pier location, revealed just before the event, expect champagne and cocktails, Charleston-dancing flappers and sailing by Big Ben as it strikes midnight. Cavort with Lady Luck at roulette tables and drink in the heady atmosphere with burlesque shows and live bands pumping out jazzy beats. The boat will bring passengers back to stable ground at 2am – if you haven't already lost your footing after a night of giddy entertainment.
