'Skinny Love' may still be the soundtrack to adolescent daydreams, but Bon Iver have grown up and refined their song-writing abilities since the phenomenal success of 2007's debut album For Emma, Forever Ago.

The inspiration and creative process behind this breakthrough was as mythic and romantic as the songs themselves, with singer-songwriter Justin Vernon channelling heartbreak into each track. Then, armed with a clutch of awards and a dedicated fan base, the American indie-folk band proved in their 2012 follow-up that they don't need a raw break-up or seclusion in a Wisconsin wood cabin to write a soulful success story.

2016 brought a long-awaited third album from Bon Iver called 22, A Million. The songs displayed a maturation of those trademark hypnotic melodies and heartfelt lyrics with a more experimental sound. The eccentrically-named tracks '22 (OVER S∞∞N)' '10 d E A T h b R E a s T ⊠ ⊠' layer electro, brass and jagged bass for a rougher finish than the dreamy earlier songs. But frontman Justin Vernon's vocals and lyrics, now more gut-punchingly raw and expressive than ever, still lie at the heart of the music.

With the new album comes a new tour, which was cancelled for 2017 but now up-and-running again for 2018. There will be a series of shows at London's Eventim Apollo in late February and early March.
