Giambattista Valli's H&M collection is back after an unprecedented sell-out. Here's how to get your hands on the hottest collection of the moment

Sharpen your elbows and flex those typing fingers: the third drop of Giambattista Valli's collection for H&M arrives in store and online on 7 November, following a launch event in Rome in late October which saw Kendall Jenner don a scarlet version of the tiered tulle gown she debuted in May.

H&M's designer collaborations are legendary: Comme des Garçons, Marni and Margiela are just some of the most important and seemingly esoteric brands in fashion that have paired up with the high-street giant.

Giambattista Valli's haute couture pieces are more at home on the red carpet than Regent Street, with signature fairytale confections crafted from miles and miles of tulle. But they're far from old-fashioned thanks to 'Giamba's' playful approach.

Known for his striking use of colour (neon, polka dot, pastel), step-hem skirts and supersized silhouettes, Valli's designs are not for wallflowers.

The collaboration was announced at the amfAR gala in Cannes back in the spring, where supermodels and influencers walked the red carpet dressed in sneak-peek pieces from a limited-edition pre-drop collection. As well as pleated tulle gowns there are heart- and crystal-sprinkled accessories, underwear pieces perfect for layering, and a modern take on men's tailoring.

The first pieces – as modelled below by Kendall Jenner, Chiara Ferragni, H.E.R and Bianca Brandolini d’Adda – went on sale in May and, as expected, were snapped up in seconds. A huge nine looks sold out in a matter of minutes.

For the November drop the designer has turned to a richer colour palette of scarlet, gold and black – perfect for the Christmas party season, while pretty floral patterned dresses are relatively low-key and with clever styling would work well into next year.



If past H&M collaboration launches are any indication, expect a fabulously dressed queue of people snaking down Regent Street from the early hours. Staff will hand out colour-coded wristbands to people in the queue, indicating a 10-minute shopping slot. Once inside shoppers are limited to buying just one of each item.

You could also try your luck online, where the collection will launch at 8am GMT. But make sure your internet connection is speedy – otherwise you'll see sold-out signs on the most popular items within minutes.

Expect prices from around £12 for socks up to about £400 for a full-on gown. Kendall's red gown will be an online exclusive, retailing for £299.99.
