Harrods, for the first time in it’s one hundred and eighty-four year track-record, has opened a standalone charity pop-up boutique just a stone’s throw from the main outlet. The month long project named ‘Fashion Re-told’, has seen the likes of Céline, Victoria Beckham and Mulberry - as well as customers and employees - donate vintage and current pieces which are now available to purchase.
Prices range between £100 and £200, with all proceeds donated to Harrods’ long-standing partner and children’s welfare charity NSPCC. Speaking on the millennial pink presentation of the store, Harrods’ head of visual merchandising told WWD, ‘Number one for myself is that it is completely Instagrammable, because when you’re doing a charitable initiative, if you don’t generate noise on every platform, you’re never going to make it a success.’ Bravo, Harrods.
