Thomas Nickell in concert with the Orchestra of the Swan

Rising star and virtuoso pianist Thomas Nickell comes to Park Lane for an evening dedicated to cultural interaction in music

Thomas Nickell comes to Park Lane
At only 18, Young Steinway Artist Thomas Nickell is one of the youngest as well as the most promising names arriving on the classical music scene. He’ll be joining the Orchestra of the Swan quintet this month for a run of performances in Stratford-upon-Avon, Lichfield and London.

Nickell’s tours have reached across Europe, Asia and the United States, packing in hugely enthusiastic audiences along the way. Hundreds were turned away after tickets for his orchestral debut in Italy during January 2016 sold out in less than an hour. He has fast become known for his tirelessly energetic musical presence.

Sandwiched between this year’s programme of Chopin and Gershwin, Mozart and Satie, will be two of Nickell’s own compositions. A London concert at the Four Seasons Hotel focuses on France's contributions to classical and modern music, the enduring influence of the UK on Mozart, and Nickell’s own American heritage.

This is set to be a superb evening showcasing cultural fusion and exchange: what better way to extend the capital’s welcome to a rising star from across the pond?
