Going Electric: Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan

The actor du jour lines up his latest star-studded role, as Timothée Chalamet is Bob Dylan in James Mangold's new biopic, Going Electric

Timothée Chalamet in Lady Bird
Is there anything the boy can't do? After Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird, Little Women and two major titles already on the way for 2020, Timothée Chalamet is gearing up for his most starry role yet, as the young actor plays the legendary musician Bob Dylan.

Going Electric, a new biopic directed by James Mangold, will see Chalamet capture the transitional years during which Dylan established himself as a pivotal figure across both folk and rock music.

Mangold has experience framing stories of men who made history, as 2019 saw the release of Le Mans '66, in which the director cast Christian Bale and Matt Damon to frame the historic driving race in which motoring company Ford took on Ferrari.

Chalamet isn't the first person to portray Dylan – Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and Ben Whishaw have all given the musician their tributes. Oh, and Cate Blanchett. Naturally.

Plot and release details regarding Chalamet's collaboration with Mangold remain scant, but it'll certainly be one for both dad rockers and all of their daughters to buy tickets for. Keep your eyes peeled for the next big thing.
