Affordable Art Fair Hampstead: 6 artists causing a stir this year
Spotlighting fresh faces on the cutting-edge contemporary art scene, Affordable Art Fair has made a name for itself as London's pre-eminent fair for discovering new talent.
Following the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead this May, these are the young emerging artists to watch now.
Smashing traditions of old mediums is Mella Shaw, a Royal College of Art graduate, who makes thought-provoking, often political, objects and installations in clay.
This year, Mella was among the exhibitors in the Affordable Art Fair's 'Hampstead Hotspots' – a curated display of artist presentations and installations throughout the fair. This year’s display followed a Fine Art Ceramic and Cast Sculpture theme, featuring Mella's Crafts Council commissioned work, Harvest.
Mella has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally, with solo shows in London, Cambridge, Edinburgh and Stockholm.
