Affordable Art Fair Hampstead: 6 artists causing a stir this year
Spotlighting fresh faces on the cutting-edge contemporary art scene, Affordable Art Fair has made a name for itself as London's pre-eminent fair for discovering new talent.
Following the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead this May, these are the young emerging artists to watch now.
After ditching life as a corporate lawyer, Kate Ballis embraced her love of fine art and photography. Describing herself as an 'aestheticisit' who loves light and colour, Kate explores the liminal space between the seen and the unseen, the real and the unreal.
In her most recent body of work, initially conceived in Palm Springs, Kate transforms the lush, tropical landscape into a colour-saturated universe of red, blue and pink hues using Infrared technology. Playing with texture and pattern, Kate's experimental work resembles the modernist landscapes of David Hockney. With big ambitions and oodles of talent, she is definitely one to watch.
