Shakespeare in the Squares returns for its third year to bring one of the bard’s most magical plays to the four-sided pastures of London.

This summer, the troupe are putting on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, but are swapping Athens for 1920s Britain where, against the backdrop of post-war economic downturn, our young lovers rebel against the staid traditions of their elders and flee to the forest in search for freedom. There, they discover an illusory world filled with frolicking fairies and fall under the spell of the Saturnalian atmosphere of the night.

This seasonal favourite will be played across 21 of London’s famous squares including St. James’s and Connaught. This adapted revival is sure to add a sparkle to summer evenings as 'post-war gloom, moonlight, madness, magic and circus' are combined to form a heady concoction, which is played out in bucolic garden settings.
