And just like that… Sarah Jessica Parker makes her West End debut, starring opposite her real-life husband Matthew Broderick in Neil Simon’s 1968 rom-com Plaza Suite. Broderick is a stage star in his own right, but perhaps more widely known for playing the titular character in hit 1986 movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

The pair play three different couples in John Benjamin Hickey's revival, which comes to the West End tried and tested, having run on Broadway in 2022. There's Karen and Sam, hoping to re-kindle the romance in their long marriage; movie producer Jesse Kiplinger hoping to seduce his old flame Muriel Tate; and Roy and Norma Hubley, attempting to coax their panicking daughter out of the bathroom on her wedding day. The play is set inside Suite 719 of New York City's Plaza Hotel, where the three couples have independently booked stays.

The production marks a return to the West End for Broderick, who shone in 2019's production of The Starry Messenger at the Wyndham's Theatre.

Parker is, of course, best known for her long-running role as Carrie Bradshaw in the HBO series Sex and the City, and its spin-off And Just Like That.... However, she cut her teeth on the stage, playing the lead role in Annie on Broadway in 1979.

This will be the first chance most have had to see SJP live on stage though. Nab your tickets to Plaza Suite here.
