Come for a walk in the deep, dark wood with everyone's favourite monster – the Gruffalo – based on Julia Donaldson's much-loved protagonist, returning to the West End at the Lyric this summer to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the hit book, illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

We all know the story: Mouse walks through the deep, dark wood hoping to enjoy a nut. He meets various predators (Owl, Snake, Fox) who are hoping to enjoy him. Cunning Mouse fabricates a scary monster to scare them off: he's got terrible tusks, and terrible claws, and terrible teeth in his terrible jaws. Surely, Mouse has nothing to fear. After all, there's no such thing as a Gruffalo – is there?

The production team behind The Gruffalo, Tall Stories, have transformed Donaldson's short story into an hour-long musical comedy sure to keep little ones on the edge of their seats.

Suitable for ages 3 and up, The Gruffalo is in London for a 10-week run. Relaxed performances are on Friday 12 July at 11am and Wednesday 7 August at 2pm and there's a BSL performance on Wednesday 17 July at 11am.

The Blue Posts isn’t actually private, but feels it.

  • Temper

The brilliant thing about Temper is its focus is on avoiding waste: beef fat is used for homemade tortillas and butter, whilst broth is made using bones. There's also a big emphasis on working with whole animals and rare-breeds such as Beer Fed Dexter, Longhorn and Highland Beef.
