By CHLOE. brings the vegan revolution to London, with four chic cafes serving plant-based alternatives to fast food favourites

Everything about By CHLOE. screams NYC cool, from the full stop and caps lock in its name to its determination to call itself ‘plant-based’ instead of just plain vegan. The totally animal-free fast-food has a cult following in New York and is proving just as popular this side of the Atlantic.

Since opening in Covent Garden in 2017, by CHLOE. has quickly conquered London, with new cafes opening in Oxford Circus, Tower Bridge and The O2 arena. It's also available on Deliveroo, proving that vegans needn't miss out on indulgent takeaways.

On the entirely vegan menu, there’s quinoa taco salad, a guac burger, pesto 'meatballs', and thrillingly, vegan mac n' cheese, which is a BIG DEAL if you can’t eat dairy. There's also dairy-free ice cream, freshly baked goods, along with salads and sandwiches. And as a special concession to London, you can get a tofu-based fish and chips and a totally plant-based roast, which is best topped off with vegan sticky toffee pudding and whipped coconut cream.

Thanks to plentiful fresh veg and 'air frying' techniques, the food strikes the right balance: it's satisfying and hearty without being greasy junk food. Little touches like a genuinely creamy chipotle mayo and a zingy beetroot ketchup will delight vegans (and totally fool carnivores).

What members say

Passed by yesterday. The venue looks boring like a cheap canteen and the menu isn't a bit enticing
