The Portrait Restaurant at the National Portrait Gallery is a gem with beautiful views across to Big Ben and The London Eye. It is open from brunch through afternoon tea, to pre-theatre and dinner, Thursday – Sunday.
Spring’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ tea pays tribute to Lewis Carroll’s work with Alice Liddell, featured in the exhibition Victorian Giants: the Birth of Art Photography. Enjoy Queen of Hearts jammie dodgers, rhubarb and custard eclairs, chocolate and pistachio pinwheels and more.
There's a pre-theatre menu 5.30 – 6.30 and dinner from 6.30pm, where quintessential English ingredients are served simply and in season.
Please note the restaurant is closed between 22 May – 3 June for some gentle maintenance.
