Fun Fitness: London 2017
Regardless of whether you're a gym bunny or your definition of fitness is running from your problems, we've found the most challenging (and fun) workouts London has to offer for the summer of 2017. Get reading and get moving!

Float like a butterfly, sting like a well-timed insult: BXR

Follow in the Instagram footsteps of models like Gigi Hadid and Adriana Lima by hitting the boxing ring. One of the best looking and most challenging gyms in London is BXR. With boxing discipline training and machine workouts (bikes, weights, treadmills), membership in this trendy space will inspire you to work out on the daily.

Sci-fi spa: Zerofat

More closely resembling one of the sweet space pods from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 rather than any piece of gym equipment we've ever seen, Zerofat is a spa treatment and workout rolled into one. Combining workouts and light therapy that boosts the skin's collagen production while activating your metabolic rate so you burn calories 44% faster, you'll be glowing like never before after a session.

Feel the burn: Barry's Bootcamp

Barry's Bootcamp is a hotspot for London celebs – but the classes are so brutal you won't even notice if David Beckham is next to you. 'The best workout in the world' is an original mix of running and weights, so you'll never get bored.

Give back: Good Gym

GoodGym wants to use the energy from your workout for good. With selfless exercise routines like performing physical tasks for community organizations and running to visit isolated older people, the non-profit organization relies on donations to help cover costs and organize personal trainers for the ultimate feel-good workout.

Never miss a workout: Hotpod Yoga

With Hotpod, yoga class can happen any time, any place. The founders developed a simple yoga practice to make you sweat while keeping things down to earth. Located across London in portable, inflatable purple pods kept heated at a toasty 37 degrees, so you can say goodbye to exercise excuses like "logistical accessibility."

Spread your wings: Trapeze class

What better way to enjoy working out in the summer sun than by literally learning to fly? Book a drop in class, private event, or take a course at Gorilla Circus Flying Trapeze school to learn tricks on the trapeze bar. Soar through the sky (and above the safety net) at the summer school location, now open in Regents Park. The classes take any students from 8+, so you can take the whole family out this weekend.

Bring your best friend: Doga

Planning to take your puppy to the park this weekend? How about signing both of you up for a fitness class instead? Doga is literally what it sounds like – yoga with dogs – but promises to be so much more, focusing on resolving the stress and anxiety felt by you and your dog while strengthening your bond. Dogs and yogis of all disciplinary levels welcome.

Hardcore: Parkour

Coordination, strength, speed, flexibility, balance – Parkour Generations will get you running around outside, scaling walls, obstacles and rails in no time. Since Britain has officially recognized Parkour as a sport, more and more gyms have been popping up. Private coaching options with trained specialists are available to make sure you learn techniques under strict supervision.

Shake it like a Polaroid picture: Seen on Screen Fitness

If there's one thing we've learned from the Taylor Swift/Katy Perry feud, it's that backup dancers are more important than we could ever know. Find out with Seen on Screen, the fitness class taught by dancers who regularly appear shaking their stuff both on screen and stage alongside the likes of Rhianna and Beyoncé. The talented instructors break down the dance moves in your favourite music videos during this sassy workout, so even the most rhythmically challenged can recreate the Britney Spears' routine of their dreams.

Saddle up, Indoor Cycling at One 10

If you thought cycling wasn't your thing, think again. Newly launched One 10 has set a new pace for indoor cycling. Featuring the latest technology and smart bikes, your individual profile (and progress) is tracked the minute you saddle up. The studio offers two distinctly different classes: Paceline, an intense performance based-workout, and Nirvana, a more energetic feel-good party ride (which takes place in almost pitch-black darkness) curated to an ever-changing beat-heavy playlist. Both are perfect for the competitive amongst you – prepare to sweat profusely and see your calories burnt and RPM exposed at the end of the class for all to see. It's time to feel the burn.

Wake Up London, John Lewis Rooftop

Early morning exercise classes are certainly not for everyone, but they are made a hell of a lot easier when they take place in the serene, fragrant surroundings of the John Lewis Gardening Society Rooftop. This summer the retail giant has teamed up with fitness specialists HEX for a series of early morning high intensity boxing circuit classes.

While you box, leg kick and weight lift (trust-us, it's not as bad as it sounds), savour the smells of lavender, mint and rosemary emanating from the surrounding herb garden and soak in the spectacular view of London. Quite frankly, it's one of the most pleasant spots in London we've exercised in, and to top it off, we came away feeling refreshed, energised and ready to tackle the day ahead.

*This class is designed specifically for London professionals, so takes place bright and early every Tuesday and Thursday morning. It is essential to note that there are no showers on site, so sadly not a runner if you do not have access to showers at work.
