The Ilaka Project Presents: Sugarcoated, Hoxton’s Basement

Tempt your sweet tooth and up your Instagramming at this art exhibition and celebration of Pakistani talent

The Ilaka Project Presents: Sugarcoated, Hoxton’s Basement
One for the Instagram obsessives, this one-week exhibition by The Ilaka Project promises to be a pastel-colour-packed delight for the senses, and a celebration of all things sweet (that won't rot your teeth).

Ten artists will be presenting their work at Sugarcoated, and they have taken inspiration from the concept of candy to create everything from 2D miniatures to giant lollipop sculptures.

The (regrettably inedible) display will take you back to childhood memories and make you want to run to the nearest sweet shop; the masterminds behind Sugarcoated have promised the Hoxton-based event will be so syrupy it will ‘make your teeth hurt’.

All work on display will be available to purchase from the online platform of The Ilaka Project, a group who aim to promote Pakistani art – all of the pieces at Sugarcoated have been created by artists from Pakistan. The exhibition is part of the project’s broader aim to provide opportunities for Pakistani artists in the western market.

Standard tickets are priced at £12, with concessions available for students.
