This Summer, New York's Fifth Avenue comes to deepest darkest Peckham - not something we would have said ten years ago. The Guggenheim Museum has teamed up with the South London Gallery, to bring us Under the Same Sun: Art from Latin America Today. The show, which debuted at the New York museum in 2014 to great acclaim, brings together contemporary work from some 15 countries across Latin America. Come and discover voices from an area that rarely gets a global audience.

Mexican artist Frida Kahlo said 'My painting carries with it the message of pain'; and much of the art in this show is concerned with social injustice and the history of colonialism. Young Argentinian artist Amalia Pica fills rooms with her large, translucent shapes. The piece references to an incident in the '70s in which a junta banned the use of Venn diagrams in schools, citing, obscurely, the potentially subversive collaborative action they might engender.

Artist couple Raimond Chaves and Gilda Mantilla combat the stereotypes of South America by detailing overlooked people and places in their work, which combines text and image. Wilson Díaz uses his neon signs to explore conflict and corruption in Colombia.

But despite themes of war and repression, we suspect there'll be a great deal of fun to be had.
