Pls Like: YouTuber mockumentary series, BBC Three

Parody mockumentary about those sugar-sweet vloggers by comedians Liam Williams and Tim Key comes to BBC Three

Pls Like, BBC Three, YouTube mockumentary
Even if you've never watched a YouTuber in their bedroom smiling at a scented candle / video game / eyeshadow colour, it's unlikely the phenomenon of 'YouTubing' has totally passed you by.

Since Zoe Sugg (aka Zoella) become really famous in about 2010, there has been an unbearable number of articles written about millennials on the internet with the headline: 'The most famous man/woman you've never heard of: [insert YouTuber's name here]'. So, now they are the most famous people we only wish we'd never heard of.

A mockumentary poking fun at Vlogging is long overdue. But finally Pls Like is arriving on BBC Three this Saturday. It's a six-part series starring stand-up Liam Williams, who stars as the reluctant winner of a YouTube-based vlogging competition. To secure the £10,000 prize he must undertake a series of challenges.

Liam is helped in his challenges by established YouTubers Charlie South (played by Jonathan Pointing) and Millipede (Emma Sidi). Meanwhile James Wirm (Tim Key), a Talent Manager, oversees proceedings.

Pls Like is essential watching for anyone who loves, hates or love-hates the world of YouTubing. If you need a little bit of a warm-up, check out this somewhat bonkers 'language' challenge video with Zoella and Jim Chapman.
