Mother, Barbican Centre
Mime of a lifetime: don't miss Mother at the Barbican Centre
Creative collective Peeping Tom promises to transport you to an alternate, dreamlike universe with their new show, Mother.
Part of the London International Mime Festival 2018, Mother is a stunning new production that defies categorisation. Moving from museum to maternity ward, this non-narrative work explores the various paradigms surrounding matriarchy. Inspired by the memories of performers and director Gabriela Carrizo, the troupe delivers a powerful portrayal of what it means to be a mother. Accompanied by a surreal soundscape and stunning visual imagery, the production intertwines suffering, desire, and fear to recreate the atmosphere of a David Lynch film.
The terrifyingly talented troupe are sure to give Jennifer Lawrence's mother! a run for its money.
