Why It's Kicking Off Everywhere, Young Vic

Former Newsnight presenter Paul Mason in a promenade performance of his book about social revolt and change – where audience participation is an integral part

Why It's Kicking Off Everywhere, Young Vic
'What kind of revolution is this?'

Paul Mason, former BBC Newsnight presenter and Channel 4 economics editor, teams up with Young Vic artistic director David Lan to explore how in the world we got from the optimism of the Arab Spring and the #Occupy movement to the state we're in now. Based on Mason's book Why It's Kicking Off Everywhere, the Young Vic promenade performance, with Mason centre stage, incorporates video screenings and involves audience participation throughout.

The show will be filmed and broadcast at a later date by BBC Television as part of Performance Live, a two-year project challenging artists, producers and organisations to make their own TV programmes.

Tickets for the three performances are free, limited to one per person, and will be allocated via ballot. The ballot is open now and closes at 12 noon on Wednesday 22 March. Click here to register.
