Greek Mythology melds with 1930s Paris as the story of Orpheus and Eurydice takes audiences on a journey to the underworld via jazz clubs and music halls.

Orpheus, Little Bulb Theatre's musical update of the ancient tale, returns to Battersea Arts Centre after first impressing in 2013. Critics enthused about 'a show that fizzes with musical talent and comic esprit' and 'is guaranteed to leave a smile on your face'.


Presented as a play-within-a-play, Orpheus begins with legendary musician Django Reinhardt master-minding a new production of the classic love story. Battersea Arts Centre's Great Hall is transformed into a lavish, velvet-strewn music hall that ripples with live jazz. Très charmante songstress Yvette Pépin and her troupe of players breathe new life into the tale of a brave poet-musician who journeys to the the underworld to save his beloved.

The heady club jazz soundtrack, free-flowing wine and poignant romance offer up a more sophisticated take on the standard festive fare. So book promptly and, as the myth commands, don't look back.
