Murder at the Library: A classic murder mystery dining experience review ★★★★

Travel back to the glamorous 1930s for a five-course feast with a murderous twist

Murder Mystery Dinner Party: Library, Covent Garden
Travel back to 1935 for a night of fine dining and detective work. Secret supper club LIBRARY invites you to join an elite group of creatives, politicians and London high fliers in a discussion on the state of affairs in our city.

But there's an empty seat at the table. Where is Chairman Sir Charles Atherton?

In a dramatic turn of events, the Chairman has been found dead - and the circumstances are highly suspicious. The Detective Inspector needs help to find the killer and it's up to us diners to combine forces to help solve the mystery before there's any more foul play.

There are four potential suspects, each with a motive for murder. So we must decipher the plot twists and narratives play out by Moonstone Theatre company over a five course feast.

Of course the crime should not deter us from our original purpose - to eat, drink and mingle in the luxurious surroundings of the LIBRARY private members' club. Each course is punctuated with a chance to hear from the suspects and cross examine them. There's the coquettish singer seen entering Mr Atherton's abode and the brooding rival who stands to takeover the lucrative role as Chairman. Or was it Mr Atherton's son, eager to inherit his fortune. And who is this 'bug lady' with her venomous samples?

The dishes live up to the exclusivity of the occasion, with highlights including tender pigeon breasts, rich lobster tail and an oh-so-creamy chocolate mousse. The wine pairings with each course add to the indulgence (though by the fifth you may be slightly less adept at piecing together the clues).

The atmosphere is convivial, as you're encouraged to get to know fellow guests, take turns to read out extra clues and to come together to cross-examine the shady characters.

So whether you fancy yourself as a bit of Sherlock Holmes, or just fancy getting immersed in a new fine-dining adventure, book now to find the murderer before he strikes again. The dress code is 1930s glam, so dig out those pussy bow blouses, fur stoles and bowler hats.

Dining tickets are £75 each (+ £35 for Wine Pairing)
