Faber Social presents Palfest Social
Faber Social is devoted to putting books and music at the heart of independent publishing. Its latest social aims to raise money for the Palestine Festival of Literature, the touring event that brings literature and culture from all over the world to occupied territories in the Middle East. All profits from ticket sales will be donated to PalFest.

The evening will feature a stellar line-up of literary names in a range of readings and music.

Viv Albertine is a singer, songwriter and filmmaker, best known as guitarist and singer in British punk band The Slits. In 2014 she published her memoir on music and life with The Slits and The Clash: Clothes, Clothes, Clothes. Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys.

Libyan author Hisham Matar's debut novel In the Country of Men was shortlisted for the 2006 Man Booker Prize. He is well known for his writings on the Arab Spring.

Eimear McBride is the multi-award-winning author of A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing.

Described as 'the most gifted woman now writing in English', Edna O'Brien caused outrage in Ireland with her novels exploring women's inner feelings, sex lives and troubled relationships. As well as a novelist she is a prolific poet, playwright (including a play about Virginia Woolf), and biographer of James Joyce and Lord Byron.

Andrew O'Hagan is editor-at-large for Esquire magazine and the London Review of Books. Several of his books have been adapted for television and stage, and he also gained media attention as the ghostwriter for Julian Assange's autobiography in 2014.

Plus music from DJ Heavenly Jukebox and a yet-to-be-announced special guest.

Doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start.
