Last Nights of Havana, Quayside Bar at Tobacco Dock

Celebrate rum, jazz, dance and decadence at new pop-up: Last Nights of Havana

Last Nights of Havana, Quayside Bar at Tobacco Dock
Tobacco Dock has been transformed into a playground inspired by the pre-revolution Havana of the 40s and 50s. Called the Last Nights of Havana, this is a pop-up hearkening to the bygone, glamorous era where cigars were smoked and Cadillacs ruled the roads. It’s also where to head if you want to sip on rum cocktails into the wee hours while listening to a line-up of live Cuban jazz as well as some of London's top DJs.

Cuban-born musical director Oreste `Sambroso' Noda the man behind London’s famous 'Sambroso Sambroso' leads the band nightly as they pay homage to the soulful sounds of the world-famous Buena Vista Social Club, among other musicians of the day. Later, the tempo gets faster as dancers take to the stage and DJs play Latin-inflected beats mixed with dancefloor favourites.

Of course, Cuba’s nightlife is as much about the cocktails as it is the live music. On arrival, guests are greeted with a complimentary rum cocktail before entering the balmy, palm-filled bar. From Pina Coladas to Modern Mojitos, the pop-up sports an extensive list of cocktails, which can be made with rums unique to the Caribbean as well as more locally-renowned brands.

While Cuba isn’t known for its cuisine, the team at Last Nights of Havana are determined to showcase the best of the island’s street food. As such, peckish punters can get their hands on the likes of sweet potato and black bean hummus, and mariquitas fritas (plantain chips) as well as a selection of grilled Cuban sandwiches just what you need to dance the night away.
